Pilates elongates and strengthens, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility. A body with balanced strength and flexibility is less likely to be injured.
A refreshing mind-body workout. Pilates emphasises proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment, and concentration on smooth flowing movement. You will become acutely in tune with your body. You actually learn how best to control its movement. In our Pilates sessions at See More Fitness we focus on quality of movement being valued of quantity of repetitions. Proper breathing technique is essential, and helps you execute movements with maximum power and efficiency. Last but not least, learning to breathe properly can reduce stress.
Develop a strong core, flat abdominals and a strong back with our Pilates exercises. The ‘core’ consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Strengthening them is crucial to achieve great posture, and vital when partaking in other, more intense workouts. Control of the core is attained by integrating the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle.
With Pilates you will gain long, lean muscles and flexibility. More conventional or traditional workouts are weight bearing and tend to build short muscles – the type most prone to injury. Complementing this type of exercise with Pilates will reduce the risk of injury and insure you get maximum benefit from exercising with us, which is why we include a free session every month in our Bootcamp package.

Boxing Fit Classes
Boxing is a complete workout for your cardiovascular and endurance systems. As well as training upper body, lower body and core strength. At See More Fitness our Box Fit sessions are a brilliant workout for men and women of all ages and fitness levels.
Boxing is a fantastic and fun way to enhance cardiovascular health which in turn will protect you from heart disease, burn calories, and aid to lose or maintain your weight. But doing cardio doesn’t have to mean hopping on a treadmill to log your required minutes – how boring is that? The entire point of cardio is to place a moderate amount of stress on your heart and lungs so that they are challenged enough to make beneficial physiologic adaptations to support the higher level of physical activity. But how you choose to place stress on your heart and lungs is up to you. As long as you keep your heart rate up during your workout, there’s no reason you can’t punch, kick, and jump your way to a healthier heart and cleaner living lifestyle.
All the punching, kicking, and jumping involved in one of our Box Fit sessions requires a surprising amount of strength which will propel you towards your fat loss and fitness goals fast. We incorporate bodyweight resistance exercises such as squats, press ups, and planks, as well as equipment based resistance including the TRX and medicine balls.
Another benefit from Boxing is better hand-eye coordination which does have an effect on overall health, and awareness while driving for example. Individuals with good hand-eye coordination tend to have faster reflexes and reaction times, and tend to have better physical coordination as a whole. This is particularly important as we age due to the fact coordination and balance become compromised, increasing the risk of falls.
Punching things also decreases stress! Which during the hectic lifestyles most of us lead is vital. Exercise in general increases endorphins, boosts mood, works as a form of meditation and therapy, and improves sleep, all of which help reduce stress. Boxing is a great outlet for stress. During a boxing workout you typically transition between high intensity bouts of exercise and moderate intensity recovery periods. When you’re pushing yourself through a couple minutes of high-intensity punching or kicking, you don’t have much mental power left to worry about how awful your job is, or how dirty your house is. Then even during rest periods, you’ll be focused on catching your breath and mentally preparing for the next round, not stressing over your packed schedule.
Boxing is an incredible mechanism for improved body composition because it perfectly combines muscle-building strength training moves and calorie-torching bouts of cardio. By regularly participating in a boxing program and following a nutritious eating plan, you will see changes in your shape and improvements to your fat mass percentage.
Boxing is one of the most effective ways to get into shape and maintain your physical health, and it’s a lot of fun too. Come and try a few rounds with us at See More Fitness and feel your daily stresses melt away, along with your body fat. Check class times
Fat burning at it’s greatest! There is no better way to burn fat than with a few high rep sets of Kettlebell swings, snatches and clean and jerks. These effective ballistic exercises work your body as one unit and require a great deal of hard work. The harder you work the more calories you burn. Kettlebell training is accessible and practical for all. From the elite athlete looking for an edge, to the sedentary person looking to discover fitness for the first time. All can benefit.
Fat gets a knockout punch. First, there is the extremely high metabolic cost of throwing the weight around. Second, its a strength workout creating dense muscle mass, which burns calories from fat stores all day long while increasing your resting metabolism. Finally, combine that with the fat burning effects of human growth hormone that is stimulated by these kinds of whole-body, complex movements. There is no better way to burn fat.
Its not bodybuilding. Don’t confuse Kettlebells with conventional weight training or bodybuilding. Kettlebell training focuses on movements, not muscles. Whole-body functional training, strength as a function of mobility, and cardio and strength combined.
